LT1 and LT4 Opti-Spark distributors fail when wet — Florida humidity makes it worse. We do correct replacement and water deflection upgrades.

Digital Dash Repair

C4 digital dashes go dim or fail entirely. We repair, refurbish, or replace as appropriate.

ZR-1 LT5 Specialty Service

What C4 Owners Ask Us

What is Opti-Spark and why does it fail on C4 Corvettes?
Opti-Spark is the optical-triggered distributor used on 1992–1996 LT1 and LT4 engines. It’s mounted at the front of the engine where it’s exposed to water, and the optical sensor inside is sensitive to moisture. Failures cause hard starting, misfires, and stalling. We replace the unit and install water deflection upgrades to extend service life.
Do you service the ZR-1 LT5 engine?
Yes. The LT5 is a 4-cam, 32-valve all-aluminum V8 designed by Lotus and built by Mercury Marine. It requires valve adjustment service, secondary throttle plate cleaning, and specific maintenance procedures. We have the experience to do this work correctly.
Can you fix my C4 digital dash?
Often, yes. C4 digital instrument clusters fail in characteristic ways — dim displays, dead segments, intermittent operation. We repair what’s repairable and source replacement clusters when needed.
Is the C4 FX3 selective ride control fixable?
Yes — and sometimes worth converting. FX3 uses electronically adjustable shocks. When the system fails, you have two paths: rebuild/replace the FX3 components, or convert to high-quality passive shocks (Bilstein, Koni). We’ll lay out both options with costs.
Why won’t my C4 start? Could it be the fuel pump?
C4 in-tank fuel pumps are a wear item. Symptoms include long cranking, no-starts, and stalling. We test fuel pressure, replace the pump and sending unit if needed, and replace fuel filters.
Do you do C4 tune-ups?
Absolutely. L98 TPI tune-ups, LT1 tune-ups, plug and wire replacement, fuel filter, and air intake service. We use correct GM-spec parts.
