C7-Specific Expertise

What We Fix On C7 Corvettes

The C7 has the most-Googled service issues of any Corvette generation — AFM lifters, torque tubes, and 8L90 trans. We handle all three.

AFM / DOD Lifter Failure

The most-searched C7 issue. Active Fuel Management lifters fail, causing engine ticking and potential catastrophic damage. We diagnose, replace lifters and VLOM, and offer AFM-delete cam swaps.

Torque Tube Failure

C7 torque tubes fail with rattling and clunking noises. Diagnosis, replacement, and inspection of related components.

8L90 Transmission Service

The 8-speed automatic needs proper fluid service. We perform full fluid exchanges with correct GM-spec fluid, valve body service, and address shudder.

Z06 LT4 Supercharger Service

Eaton TVS supercharger oil service, intercooler maintenance, and pulley upgrades.

ZR1 LT5 Service

The supercharged 755-hp LT5 needs precise service — supercharger oil, fuel system, and forced-induction-specific maintenance.

Magnetic Ride Control 4.0

MRC4 shock service, controller diagnosis, and replacement.

Active Aero & Front Lift

Z06/GS active rear spoiler diagnosis and the front-lift system on Z06 / ZR1.

Owner Questions

What C7 Owners Ask Us

What is the C7 AFM lifter failure?
Active Fuel Management (AFM, also DOD) is the system that deactivates 4 cylinders in light-load driving. The specially-designed AFM lifters fail in characteristic ways — engine ticking, then collapsed lifters that can damage cams and pistons. We diagnose with compression and lifter inspection, and offer two paths: GM-spec lifter replacement, or an AFM-delete cam swap that eliminates the system entirely.
My C7 has a clunking noise from underneath. Is it the torque tube?
Often, yes. The C7 torque tube — the connecting shaft between the engine and rear-mounted transaxle — develops bearing failures and bushing wear that produce rattling and clunking, especially at idle and low speeds. We diagnose and replace torque tubes routinely.
Should I get my 8L90 transmission fluid changed?
Yes. The 8-speed automatic shudders and surges when fluid degrades. GM revised the fluid specification (Mobil 1 ATF) and updated the service procedure. We perform proper fluid exchange with the correct fluid type.
Do you service the C7 Z06 LT4 supercharger?
Yes. The LT4 is a supercharged 6.2L producing 650 hp in C7 Z06 trim. We service the Eaton supercharger (oil change every 60K), intercooler system, and address the heat-soak issues these cars are known for.
Can you do an AFM delete on my C7?
Yes. An AFM delete eliminates the lifter failure risk permanently by replacing the AFM cam with a non-AFM cam, removing the AFM lifters, and tuning out the system. We do these regularly with proper tuning to ensure the engine runs perfectly afterward.
Do you service the C7 ZR1 with the LT5 engine?
Yes. The LT5 is the 755-hp supercharged 6.2L in the 2019 ZR1. It requires meticulous maintenance — supercharger service, fuel system, and the unique cooling demands of 755 hp.

Your C7 Deserves The Best.

Specialized repairs, expert diagnostics, craftsmanship you can count on — done right the first time.
